ROAR Ministry

ROAR stands for Reaching Out Ahead of and After Release and seeks to place an Inspire Study Bible in the hands of women who are incarcerated in prisons across Texas.

Reaching Out Ahead of and After Release

ROAR Ministries provides Inspire Bibles and outreach to former and current incarcerated women. ROAR is funded from donations in part from its ROAR Missions Cafe each Sunday morning. The Cafe provides coffee, drinks, and snacks to FBC Cleburne attendees before church services.

Since 2018 a female Chaplain from FBC Cleburne has gone to the Johnson County Correctional Center to facilitate a 9-week Celebrate Recovery program to the incarcerated women that want to attend.

ROAR WOMEN'S PRISON MINISTRY

What our Ministry has been able to accomplish:

  • 2021 – We received 1,326 letters from incarcerated women in Texas requesting an Inspire Bible.
  • 2021 – We were able to send 1,019 Bibles to these women.
  • 2022 – As of August 2022 we have been able to send 375 Bibles to women incarcerated in Texas.
  • 22 Christian Women Pen Pals are mentoring one to three ladies each. They correspond with each of these ladies.
  • Many salvations have come through the Celebrate Recovery program.

How can you help with this ministry?

We are a small ministry currently staffed by only 4 volunteers.

Our needs are:

  • Monetary donations to purchase Inspire Bibles
  • Christian women who would like to become spiritual Pen Pals and/or Prayer Warriors
  • Donations for products/supplies for ROAR Cafe
  • Future needs – gift basket projects
