The purpose of the Van Ministry is to connect with and build relationships with families outside our church walls. When Jesus traveled around Judea and Galilee He didn't always wait for people to come to Him, instead He diligently sought out hurting people around Him. He spent much of His ministry time building relationships with people and meeting their physical needs in order to meet their spiritual needs. In response to the way that Jesus did His ministry, we desire to follow in His footsteps by building trusting and lasting relationship with these families and by meeting their needs, both physically and spiritually.
The Van Ministry at First Baptist Church Cleburne runs each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening for families and children that need a ride to and/or from church. On Sunday mornings we pick up between 8:45 and 9:10 am. Once at church, we have age appropriate Sunday School classes for everyone. After Sunday School, we have our 10:30 am Celebration Worship Service. Children and preschoolers who do not come with an adult will be able to sit with a family from our church each week, while the youth all sit together each Sunday. Riders will be returned home by 12:30pm.
On Wednesday's the vans run each week from 5:30-6:00pm. Once at church we offer Preschool and Children programming, as well as Youth Bible Study. Riders will be returned home by 8:00pm.
If you would like for your child/children to ride the vans, please contact the FBC church office at (817) 645-6684. In order for your child/children to ride we must have a permission form on file as well as a medical and liability release form. Those can be found in the side bar on the right side of this page. We ask that children ages 4-6 be accompanied by an adult or an older sibling in order to ride. For liability reasons and the necessity of safety carseats, we cannot allow children under the age of 4 to ride the vans.
If you are a church member and you would like to volunteer with this ministry please contact the church office at (817) 645-6684. We are always looking for drivers and riders for both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, as well as callers and some friendly faces who can visit these families during the week.
